Tilaka is a sacred sign that is applied to the forehead and other parts of the body. It is a sacred ceremony for every follower of the Vedic tradition, which also protects a person. When pronouncing a mantra, we shield ourselves from negative influences, since by applying a sacred sign with the name of God on ourselves, we verbally cleanse the space around us and within ourselves. Throwing in our gaze, tilak reminds of God, and also indicates to society our religious direction, as it is drawn on the forehead.

THESE SHOULD BE REMEMBERED. TILAK SHOULD BE PUT AFTER REMEMBERING THESE TWELVE VASUDEVAS.
